Intermix Label and MSDS Program Update

November 25, 2014

PPG Refinish is updating the Label & MSDS program for sell-out, generic labels and MSDS for our intermix color formula systems. The present system points to a specific label and MSDS designation when using color retrieval tools, representing one of up to three subsets based on the heavy metals content in the toners in the intermix formula provided.

In this update, intermix formulas that contain manganese and non hexavalent forms of chromium at MSDS reportable levels will be redirected to a new setting 5 label and MSDS. These formulas were previously included in the setting 1 grouping. No formulas are being eliminated. Facilities will have to order #5 labels if their present color system is indicated in this chart.
