In 1971, 19-year-old Dave Maharaj left
his home in Trinidad with just $85 in his
pocket and, like many other immigrants
with a dream, came to the United States
to seek his fortune. He had heard that
the U.S. needed autobody technicians,
and since he had been working in the
industry since he was 13, he was ready
to help fill that need.
