10 | 11 1. Apply 1 medium wet coat of sealer to all new panels, edge to edge. 2. If repair is kept within the panel, blend the sealer edge just beyond the primed area. 3. Allow sealer to flash 15 minutes before applying color. 4. Basecoat option: A basecoat mixed in the proper spectral gray color can be used in place of a sealer to avoid any rough edge. Do not apply overexposed bare metal or body filler. TIPS: ROUGH SEALER EDGES Any roughness on the sealer blend edge can be melted in with a straight solvent reducer—but do so immediately after applying sealer. Once flashed, the sealer edge will not melt sufficiently. Over-application of solvent reducer can cause the sealer edge to de-wet/ separate and can telegraph through the basecoat. Blending solvents are not recommended for melting a sealer edge. The solvent in the clearcoat will affect the resin left behind, causing color to shift in this area. APPLYING THE SEALER
