TEAM PENSKE SPONSORSHIP ENTERS 35TH YEAR PPG is continuing its long-standing support of Team Penske by serving as a primary sponsor for multiple races throughout the 2019 season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NTT IndyCar Series. The sponsorship marks PPG and Team Penske's 35th year of working together, which is one of the longest-tenured partnerships in all of motorsports. PPG will be the primary sponsor of Ryan Blaney's No. 12 Ford Mustang in six NASCAR Cup Series races. The NASCAR Xfinity Series will see PPG riding on the side of Austin Cindric's No. 22 Ford Mustang in two races. Josef Newgarden will pilot the No. 2 PPG Dallara/Chevrolet for two IndyCar Series events during the course of the 2019 season. Ryan Blaney Josef Newgarden Austin Cindric A cornerstone of PPG's commitment to innovative solutions is partnering with our customers to drive future success. In this issue of Repaint Reporter, we spotlight a few customers who have evolved, with PPG's guidance, to enhance their collision repair business and their competitiveness. For Canadian customer Morrey Auto Body Shop, PPG's MVP Green Belt Training in Lean Six Sigma principles are being applied at their new facility (that our MVP team also helped design). This has resulted in exceptional cycle times and customer satisfaction. Employee leaders at Ohio customer Kistler Ford Collision Center also worked with our MVP Layout & Design service to reengineer an existing charter school into a state-of-the-art facility capable of high-production throughput. Success stories like these are quite common with the 1,710 shops and 6,500 customers who took advantage of our MVP training and services last year. Collision shop owners know all too well how the shortage of trained technicians can impact their bottom line. As our profile on Kistler Ford Collision Center points out, progressive shops are meeting this challenge head-on by "growing their own." PPG has taken the lead in support of this on-the-job training trend with the introduction of our Refinish Preparation Specialist course, which prepares entry-level technicians in the craft of refinish preparation. The daylong class covers the fundamentals of substrate cleaning and refinish prep, all while maintaining a safe and clean shop. This course is a great place to start for growing your own painters. These are just a few examples of how our commitment to partnering with customers and providing value-added services help ensure future success.
