People come to us for the cars nobody else
has the nerve to build."
To give the Porsche masterpieces a
concours-level finish, Emory looks to
PPG and David Jameson, owner and
head paint technician for Little Shop of
Kustoms in nearby Desert Hot Springs.
"The expectation for very high-quality
work is obviously a factor when it comes
to painting Rod's vehicles," says Jameson.
"But to be a part of what he's doing with
these 356s is truly an honor."
At the top of the company's Outlaw
hierarchy is the Emory RS. Built
for the ultimate behind-the-wheel
experience within a 356 package, the
RS incorporates later-model Porsche
911 technology, such as the suspension
and running gear from a '90s-era
Carrera 2 or Carrera 4.
"We want to save as much of the original
356 as possible," explains Emory. "But at
the same time, we understand a customer's
desire for high-performance exhilaration.
