Here are three complete Shop-Line systems to use as a guide to help you choose the right system or products properly suited for the type of refinishing being done. Most products from these systems may be combined with products from other Shop-Line categories, as long as the product data sheets show compatibility. This Shop-Line value-conscious system is for general refinishing of older vehicles and used cars. It's the economical choice where overall cost may be the key factor. Surface Cleaner JX101 Wax & Grease Remover Primary use: to ensure a clean surface prior to sanding and also before applying any coatings. Primer JP37X Series Epoxy Primers Primary use: bare metal adhesion and corrosion protection. JP37X is applied prior to the primer surfacer for improved adhesion and corrosion resistance. Primer Surfacers JP233 1K Primer Surfacer Primary use: fill and sandability. Primer surfacers are designed to deliver good fill and easy sanding. JP211 Polyester Primer Primary use: high build, fill and sandability. Primer Sealer JP315 1K Acrylic Sealer Primary use: adhesion and topcoat holdout. Designed to provide a uniform color, appearance and improved adhesion when applied over primer, prepared OE or repaired panels prior to applying a topcoat. Topcoats JE Acrylic Enamel with Hardener Primary use: appearance. JB Basecoat Primary use: appearance and color match.
