This summer, louisville, ky., played
host to the 43
rd
annual national street
rod association (nsra) nationals
Plus exhibition. almost 70,000
spectators came to the kentucky
exposition Center to view some 10,000
street rods, custom cars, trucks and
classics. Three of those vintage
beauties drove off with a special
honor—the 2012 nsra PPg
"outstanding use of Color" award.
The three winners were a 1965 Buick
riviera owned by sammie Hoskins of
Peoria, ill., a 1933 studebaker owned
by John moffett of east leroy, mich.,
and a 1969 Dodge Coronet owned by
Bob and Becky Villiger of mountain
Home, ark.
Hoskins' Prowler orange riviera was
painted at Farmington road autobody
in Peoria with PPg's
Deltron

DBu Basecoat,
DCu 2002 Concept
®
Clear and
DFx Hardener. The Prowler
orange/mercedes Taupe paint scheme
of moffett's studebaker was performed
by lee's Custom Body & Paint in
marshall, mich., using Deltron DBC
Basecoat, k93 Primer surfacer/sealer,
k36 Primer surfacer and DCu 2055
Concept Clear with DCx61 High solids
Hardener. Bob Villiger, a PPg-certified
master technician, painted his bright
green Dodge himself at his shop,
ozark mountain Classics. He used
Deltron DBC Basecoat, DP50 Primer
and DCu 2021 Concept Clear.
