15 it's on many a bucket list of those with an appreciation for acceleration—Bub Motorcycle speed trials at Bonneville salt Flats. Every year, racers converge for one of the most spectacular displays of speed in one of the world's most spectacular settings. Jody Perewitz, daughter of legendary motorcycle builder dave Perewitz, knew her father always wanted to make the pilgrimage to the utah desert, so for Christmas in 2010, she had the idea to take him out west. What he said after receiving the gift surprised her. "He told me we can't go to Bonneville and not race," Jody said. "We're going to go out there and set some records." From anyone other than dave Perewitz, that may have sounded like wishful thinking. taking a trial-worthy bike from drawing board to saltpan in eight months would in itself be a speed record. But Perewitz Cycle Fabrication has been building customized motorcycles for almost 40 years, with a unique blend of design, engineering and performance. "We have a habit of making things happen," dave said. As the brand manager of her father's famous shop, Jody understood the power of making a statement at Bonneville. And being a Perewitz, she has a natural affinity for motorsports. she's been riding all her life, and has competed in motocross racing. Jody would be the one to take on the record. their goal was a simple one— to make her the first woman to break 200 mph on an American-made V-twin. Performance and safety were the foremost considerations, but no bike could roll from Perewitz Cycle Fabrication without a customized look. Jody selected pink Performance Machine wheels to highlight the team's commitment to female motorcycle participation. to complement the wheels and the white salt flats, they chose Perfect Purple from the Vibrance Collection ® for the aerodynamic shielding.
