When Pope Francis climbed into a
gleaming Fiat 500L to begin his recent
tour of the United States, employees at
the PPG automotive coatings plant in
Quattordio, Italy, knew they had become
part of papal history. The vehicle, which
quickly gained international attention,
was fully coated in a wide range of PPG
products developed and produced in
POPE RIDES WITH PPG
Quattordio. The car was manufactured
at a new Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA)
plant in Serbia that uses PPG High Solid
technology. The FCA Serbian plant is the
first facility in the Europe, Middle East
and Africa region to use PPG High Solid
technology, which helps manufacturers
reduce consumption and emissions.
This restored 1970 Toyota Corona sedan was the centerpiece of a recent grand opening
celebration for Milton Martin Toyota's new 20,000-square-foot collision center—and it holds
the unique distinction of being the first Toyota the dealership ever sold. Donated by the
original owner to the Gainesville, Ga., dealership, the car was restored by its collision center
team to mint condition. The fresh pearlescent opal cream finish was created with the
ENVIROBASE
®
High Performance refinish system.
