But when it came time to put the
finishing touches on the build team's
vision for this project, the folks at
Customs & Hot Rods needed an artist
with a perfect blend of imagination
and expertise.
"When I heard about the '39 Olds
project, it was fun to see that Customs
& Hot Rods would be doing the build
since I knew a lot of the guys," recalls
Charley. "So when they called and
asked me to join the team, I was
immediately hooked and honored."
Faced with such a unique canvas,
Hutton's challenge was to deliver on
Thomas' quest to produce a show-
winning car.
"There's always a purpose and a
passion behind what we do," explains
Charley. "So when we looked at the
design for Olds Cool and its elegant
look and feel, we wanted the paint
finish to reflect that personality."
To bring his vision for this project
to life, Charley relied on PPG's
"Waterborne is ideal for creating a metallic finish that's
