Shannon MacDonald creates brilliant,
energetic, hyperrealistic art that leaves
her fans awestruck. Her work adorns
guitars, drums, motorcycles, boats and
cars; and she's renowned for her canvases,
posters and illustrations that portray
celebrities from the worlds of sports and
entertainment. Her paintings hang at the
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Hard
Day's Night Hotel in Liverpool. She's been
honored with the formal title "The World's
Greatest Beatles Artist" by the Lord Mayor
of Liverpool and touted on television
shows including Good Morning America
and Oprah. To create such works of art,

Shannon was introduced to PPG early
on. Her father was a race car mechanic
and the family garage housed paint cans
wearing PPG's DITZLER
®
brand name.
So when Shannon painted her first car
in the 1980s, a '57 Chevy, it was the
familiar Ditzler brand she turned to.
But Shannon's road to artistic success
wasn't smooth. Although she started
drawing at the age of two and won
numerous awards through middle school
for her work, her high school art teacher
inexplicably failed her. Shaken by the
experience, Shannon abandoned art and
turned to music—the guitar. Eventually
she started a sign company, and a friend
