The idea behind the event was to provide the opportunity for Lowrider builders and artists from around the country to learn about and to demonstrate the endless custom possibilities using PPG's Envirobase ® High Performance waterborne system and special effects and colors from the Vibrance Collection ® by PPG. Orlando, Florida was the site of PPG's recent annual refinish meeting where many attendees were recognized for their achievements in 2010. Among them were Daniel Santangelo, Refinish Territory Manager, North Tonawanda Town, N.Y., named "Top Territory Manager," and John Wilhelm of Brighton, Mich., "Top Commercial Territory Manager." Randy Toniolo, veteran PPG salesperson, of Jeannette, Pa., received accolades for having the largest yearly sales increase ever by a PPG refinish territory manager. Randy attributes his recent successes to the overwhelmingly positive reception that PPG's waterborne basecoat technology has been receiving in his Pennsylvania region. Santangelo and Wilhelm were also recently named recipients of PPG's prestigious Chairman's Award for Sales Excellence. Awarded to a select group of 13 PPG sales associates from across the globe, the annual award recognizes and rewards outstanding performance among PPG's global sales staff comprising more than 8,300 members across all of PPG's businesses. "The Chairman's Award is the premier sales achievement award at PPG, recognizing extraordinary sales performance," said PPG Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Chuck Bunch. "Sales growth is crucial to the future of our company, and these sales professionals have made substantial contributions to that success for both their respective business and our company as a whole." Criteria for selecting winners are determined within each business unit in conjunction with PPG's Commercial Excellence Team. Overall, the award recipients were evaluated based on accomplishments in the areas of growth, new customers, maintaining core customers, cost focus, and numerous factors related to how the key successes were accomplished.
