WASP WASP STEALTH-LOOKING PPG GALLERY 34 34 Sleek. Ominous. Powerful. That's Mike Dennison's 1951 Hudson Wasp. Built from scratch at Kenny's Rod Shop in Boise, Idaho, Kenny Welch and his team gave the Hudson a modern look with reshaped headlights and driving lights, grille and the narrowed and tucked bumper. The interior was updated as well with seats and cabin boasting a mix of brown basket- weave Alcantara leather. If that weren't enough, a thundering Viper V10 engine sits under the hood. The typical Hudson chrome has been eliminated, blacked out, or painted bronze on the Wasp. A gold stripe along the body line accents the black paint applied by Shawn McNally of Regenerated Rides in Nampa, Idaho. Owner McNally and painter Heath Johnson used DELTRON ® CONCEPT ® DCC9300 Single Stage Black and DCU2021 Urethane Clear in a blendable mix to give the car its flawless finish. This highly functional, high- performance custom has been catching judges' eyes, claiming prizes in 2019 at Hot August Nights, Goodguys Colorado and Pleasanton shows, and the Boise Roadster Show.
