Armstrong, along with his partners Brad Houk and Justin Burns, have built a dazzling portfolio of work for Auto Art studio, the customizing shop they founded in Prescott, Ariz., in 2007. Meticulous attention to detail is the hallmark of their growing reputation. on a recent Camaro project, Armstrong poured 500 hours into the paint job alone. it also required nearly a mile of tape to mask off the painstakingly detailed graphics. Armstrong is equally well known for his outstanding airbrushing technique. on his work you'll find life-like illustrations intertwined with tribal design elements and a striking color palette. it's one of the most original styles you'll find on the road anywhere. For his high-profile projects, Armstrong entrusts his vision to Deltron ® dBC and custom colors and effects from PPG's Vibrance Collection ® . "the paint works perfectly," Charles said. "From spraying solid color on a vehicle to doing graphics, pinups or portraiture, i get to stay within a complete system. it lends itself well to what we do here." this summer, Auto Art studio will be moving over from Prescott to Phoenix. the move will allow them to join the city's thriving custom scene and continue to expand the shop.
